Does Taproo issue GTINs?

No. GTINs are issued through GS1 Member Organisations. Taproo does not issue or validate ownership of a GTIN.

Does a Taproo page make a product DPP or ESPR compliant?

No compliance claim is made by the page itself. Digital Product Passport requirements depend on the applicable product category, delegated rules, required data and the organisation placing the product on the market. Validate your implementation against the rules that apply to your products.

Can product information change after a QR is printed?

Yes, when the printed QR points to an editable web destination. Updating that destination does not alter identifiers that are physically encoded or printed in a static code.

Can I create GS1 product pages on Free or Pro?

No. The GS1 product page type is a Business capability and is not currently part of Taproo's public Free or Pro offer.

GS1 & product information

GS1 Digital Link & product information QR

Explore how a dynamic QR can connect a product identifier to editable online product information. Taproo includes a Business-gated GS1 product page type, but brands remain responsible for validating their identifiers, data and regulatory requirements.

Keep the printed QR stable while updating the online product information behind an editable destination.

Connect packaging to care, repair, ingredients, recall or end-of-life information without treating the QR itself as the source of regulatory compliance.

Use a product-information page alongside identifiers supplied by the appropriate standards body or product owner.

How it works

1
Prepare your product data
Collect the identifiers and product information your organisation needs, including any GTINs obtained through the appropriate GS1 Member Organisation.
2
Create the product destination
Business workspaces can create a GS1 product page and publish the product information they choose to make available online.
3
Validate before production
Test the final identifier, URL and QR in the systems and regulatory context where you intend to use them before printing packaging at scale.
