Frequently asked
Do I need a paid plan if I just bought an NFC tag?
No. Every NFC tag from Taproo (keychain, sticker, business card) works on the Free plan, which includes 1 dynamic vCard + 1 other dynamic page, basic scan & tap analytics, and the ability to change the destination forever. Upgrade only if you want more destinations, advanced analytics, custom slugs, password-protect, scheduling, or team access.
Do NFC taps count toward my monthly limit?
Yes. Scans and taps share the same monthly interaction allowance — 500 on Free, 25,000 on Pro, unlimited on Business. We don't meter NFC and QR separately.
Can I have an NFC tag without a QR code (or vice versa)?
Yes. Each Taproo destination can be reached by QR, NFC, or both. Hide the QR if you don't need it; order an NFC tag without ever printing the QR — the editable destination is the same.
Is pricing monthly or one-off?
Subscription — billed monthly or annually. Annual saves about 17%. Physical products in the shop (NFC tags, business cards) are separate one-off purchases that include a free destination on the Free plan.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade in one click. We prorate the difference.
What happens to my codes and tags if I cancel?
Static codes always work. Dynamic destinations (QR and NFC) pause and your data stays in your account — re-subscribe any time and they resume. Nothing is deleted automatically.
Do you offer annual discounts?
Yes — save ~17% paying yearly. Toggle Annual at the top of this page.
Can I add teammates on the Free or Pro plan?
Team workspaces with multiple members and roles are part of the Business plan. Free and Pro accounts get a personal workspace; upgrade to Business to invite teammates and assign roles.
Which 13 hosted page types are included?
Link/landing redirect, vCard contact, Socials hub (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn — perfect for NFC keychains), Wi-Fi share, WhatsApp click-to-chat, event RSVP, restaurant menu, customer reviews (with star-gating), GS1 / EU Digital Product Passport, bio link, dedicated Luggage tag, generic Luggage / Lost & Found, and Emergency ID (ICE / medical info — an information tool, not a medical device). All 13 are available on every plan, including Free, and all 13 work with both QR and NFC.
Does the Reviews page include star-gating and private feedback capture?
Yes — on every plan. Set a threshold (default 3★): 4–5★ scans go to Google, Trustpilot, Facebook, Booking.com or Airbnb, while 1–3★ scans land on a private form whose submissions show up in your dashboard. You can also offer a reward code on submission.
Is GS1 Digital Link / EU Digital Product Passport supported?
Yes. The GS1 page type ships with extended Application Identifiers, materials/carbon/recycling/recall fields, an A4 PDF conformance report, retail label sheets and a linkset.json export for the official GS1 resolver — across 9 languages.
How does linking a physical product to a page work at checkout?
When you order an NFC tag, QR keychain or business card from the shop you choose a link mode per item: link to an existing page, create a new page after purchase via a setup link we email you, or send the setup link later (handy for gifts). Checkout shows a full Order summary with the design and link mode for every line so you can edit before paying, and a branded confirmation email from notify@taproo.com lists every destination and the next step for each line.
